Dave the Diver is home to a host of minigames to keep you busy between dives. Although minigames don't contribute to the core gameplay loop, tackling them when you have some downtime can net you rewards to upgrade your weapons and catch uncover new species of fish.
You'll find minigames in two spots in Dave the Diver: on your phone and in the Sea People Village. We'll break down how each of the minigames work, what you can earn, and how you can unlock them.
Phone Minigames
There are three minigames you can play on your phone, and you can access them anytime you can pull up your phone (basically, whenever you're not on a dive).

Leah's Run
You'll unlock Leah's Run automatically during Chapter 3 of Dave the Diver. It's an infinite runner minigame where you're tasked with collecting gems as Leah outruns rabid fans. It's a high-score minigame, and there aren't any rewards in Dave the Diver for getting a high score (outside of bragging rights, of course).
The game revolves around a single and double-jump, which you'll need to use to get over gaps and obstacles. If you fall in a gap, you fail instantly. Running into an obstacle allows fans to get closer, and you can only run into two obstacles before failing.
GYAO!
GYAO! is a minigame you'll probably return to a lot after unlocking it. It's basically a Tomodachi, allowing you to raise a virtual animal (and unlock species of fish you can't find anywhere else in the game). You'll unlock GYAO! after completing the first Stormy Night sub-mission. This mission comes from Sato, who asks you investigate a mysterious vortex in the Blue Hole Shallows on a stormy night.
There are a few things you need to do to grow a healthy virtual companion. Here are the options you have in the minigame:
- Feed - Either a meal or a snack; your GYAO is "full" with four full meals
- Lighting - Turn off the lights at night for bedtime!
- Play - Play a shell minigame to engage your GYAO; four games make your GYAO happy.
- Heal - Heal your GYAO if you see a purple skull in the app.
- Clean - Sweep away waste if your GYAO goes to the bathroom.
- Warning and Discipline - If you see a notification from GYAO! and nothing is wrong, use these options to train your GYAO.
- Manage - Look at your hunger and fun meters (raised by feeding and playing), as well as the training level of your GYAO.
- Favorites - Look back at past GYAOs you've raised. They'll pass on eventually, but you can remember them here!
- Settings - Turn notifications for GYAO on or off.
Space Diver
Space Diver is the final minigame you'll unlock in Dave the Diver. It's part of the end credits, where you'll need to dart around space and shoot down the names of developers. This is another high score-based minigame. Taking down the names will increase your score, while getting hit by enemies will decrease your score. The goal is to take out all of the developers before the credits are over!

Sea People Village Minigames
There are four more minigames you can play in the Sea People Village. Each of them awards you with currency you can spend in the Sea People Village to buy components from the Blacksmith. You'll find all of them in the Arcade in Sea People Village.
Arcade Games
There are three minigames you can play in the arcade:
- Shark Cavity
- Hermit shell
- Card match
You need to bet on each of these, and you'll be paid out two to one if you win. If you put in 10 coins, for example, you'll earn 20 back if you win.
Card match is a simple memory game. Take turns choosing cards, and earn points by matching cards with the same symbol.
Hermit shell tasks you with keeping track of one of four hermit crabs that hid a pearl under its shell. Choose the right one to win!
Shark Cavity is a bit of a press-your-luck game. You'll take turns a choose to press down between one and three teeth. Who presses down the wrong tooth first will get bit and lose.

Seahorse Racing
You can also take part in Seahorse Racing in the Sea People Village. There are several different races to take part of, each of which award you a different amount of the Sea People's currency for winning. In order to participate, you'll need to register Seahorses you catch in the Arcade instead of taking them back to the sushi bar.
When racing, you need to mash the A button to keep the race gauge in the green zone. That generally means pressing it as fast as you can out of the gate, and slowly tapping it to stay in the green zone as the race continues. In later races, you'll also need to jump over hurdles and slide other obstacles, which you can do with the left stick.
If you aren't winning very many races at first, don't worry! Different Seahorses have different ranks, and higher rank Seahorses perform better in races.
Outside of minigames, you can also tend your farm in Dave the Diver. Make sure to check out our Fish Farm guide!
